NOTE Pictures were too big for wiki, so I put them somewhere else, but now I can't open them "small" so I need to figure something else out.
In the meantime, they can be seen, but they are huge. So, I added some thumbnails above each link.

{car trip}
Daknar, Skeld and Dobbs are traveling through some woods, the summer sun shining down on them through the trees. They come upon a bandit camp and kill 2 of the bandits. The bandits were camped by some ruins, and Dobbs can sense wards of magic. At being sensed, the wards drop and expose some ancient ruins that had not been examined for hundreds of years.

Searching the ruins, Dobbs finds numerous scrolls and books of history. Of the 30+ books, he selects 10 or 12 to keep. There are other mundane items and some silver platters and gold covered copper items, but nothing of any true value. Suddenly Dobbs finds a small hidden door behind the bookshelves. Moving the books and shelves and opening the door, a stairway leads down to an ornate door with magical symbols on it. Dobbs immediately recognizes the type of door as that of one made to hide artifacts or to permanently seal dangerous items. Suddenly staring at the door, the dwarven cleric Skeld recognizes what looks like dwarven script on the dials meant to open the door. Arranging them into a phrase that is technically an insult to humans, both he and Dobbs look at Daknar and laugh, even as the phrase causes the door to unlock.

The door grinds across the stone floor as blue light shines from inside. Moving into the room, the three see many expensive and ornate coats of armor and piles of money. Along the wall is a rack with the source of the blue glow in what appears to be a small lab. Five vials of what seem to be Residium are the source of the glow. Before the other two can even begin to examine the other items of value, Dobbs picks up the tray of Residium and pulls out one of the vials to examine it. The vile is coated with slippery oil like substance and immediately falls from his hand. Blue flames leap from the floor where the vial strikes and shatters, releasing the Residium. The three back up from the intensity of the light as it engulfs them and everything goes from blinding white to sudden black!

Valos opens his eyes and feels nothing but cold air around him as he looks around his room. His clothes are damp and there is not a sound to be heard from anyone else in the inn. He looks out the window and sees a thick fog or mist covering the ground. The mist is a three foot carpet that completely conceals the ground beneath. He gets up and decides to find his companions. In the common room, he sees that everyone is asleep. He sees the people that make up his adventuring party and goes to them, trying to awaken them. Even using a knife to cut one does nothing to arouse them from their slumber. With no sound from anywhere, he again goes to the front window and looks outside. This time, he notices the fountain in the courtyard is glowing with a faint blue light. He goes outside to investigate. He is halfway to the fountain when suddenly the light blossoms into a glowing fireball and suddenly two dwarves and a human seem to tumble out of it. An acrid smell fills his nostrils as he moves cautiously towards the three newcomers.

Daknar opens his eyes to the night sky and a cold that should not exist in summer. He shakes his head and looks at the thick mist covering the ground and the faint blue glow covering everything around him coming from the fountain off to his left. He sees another dwarf standing there staring at him, and then he can see his two companions also seeming to awaken. Before he can say anything or ask any questions, he notices the mist moving, as if a wave is being produced from something underneath. The wave is moving directly at him and his friends!

{At Q's House}

We appear outside an inn and instead of daytime it is the darkest of night. We are surrounded by a heavy fog, covering the ground. So thick is the three foot mist that we cannot see our feet. As we arrive the mist starts to move like water as nine wraiths attack the group. The rest of the party is here at this time and we group up. A Dragon & Cold Arcon then attack. The group kills them and finds no items of note. We go into the inn. Everyone inside is asleep and won’t wake up. We manage to get a fire going and that wakes everyone up. The mist that had been in the room vanishes. Everyone in the inn is confused and does not believe our story about killing spirits and a dragon

At daybreak, the mist is gone, fading with the rising sun.

Around noon, the villagers see the dragon body and give the party free room and food for doubting them.

Suddenly, a huge illusion fills the sky. It is of a rust brown dragon, and he addresses the party “You are in my domain! You will pay for my service to be here. My minions will arrive shortly with further instructions.”

The party observes this surrounded by townsfolk. One of the elders addresses the party, “it was prophesized that south east of here is a keep with a dragon slayer weapon. That weapon will be used to kill the dragon that controls our lands. Could it be that you are the people who will use this weapon to free us of the dragons rule?”

The group decides they will get the weapon. They take a few days getting materials and goods. It is determined the illusion covered a 15 mile area in Iriabor.

In the morning, the party heads south east in the direction given by the village elder. They are immediately confronted by a group of fifteen goblins and a couple of dire wolves. They goblins look tired, but the leader says “Greetings, this area is not dragon controlled. There is a toll to continue down the road. Oh, it’s even more for adventurers.”

A goblin shaman blinds Kereger as the group attacks and slays the goblins and wolves.

{250 silver , magic ring, 31 silver each}.

Moving along, the group can see a huge snowstorm in the distance. It is estimated the party is four hours from the keep and won’t reach it before the storm hits. It looks bad so the group sets up camp in a grove of trees.

Kreger wakes up and senses something. He goes outside and sees two ice-trolls. Duncan, wondering what Kreger was up to, followed him and sees them too. The trolls are armored and attack. One of them calls to the other “we will get a good bounty on these” The sounds of battle wake the rest of the party and the trolls are defeated.

{100 silver each, +2 greatsword (Alex & Tony), 2 magical bags, longbow & arrows}

Next morning, Mattlin tries to open one of the magical bags that had an intricate knot in it. A gold dragon comes out of the bag!

“Greetings friends! What year is it? I’ve been in that bag for 70 years!”

Mattlin opens the other bag, and a copper dragon comes out.

“What year is this. I have been trapped for 143 years!”

As Mattlin is holding the bag that was their prison, the gold dragon reaches down and says “I will take the bags.” He hands over the magical bags as the two dragons vanish. The group was commenting on the lack of gratitude when suddenly the gold dragon appears and throws a pouch at the party, smiles and vanishes again.

{42gold=525 silver each}

The party finds the keep, searches around and locates the entrance. Inside, the keep is bitter cold.

Mattlin thought he saw movement, similar to the spirits in the town, as he calls out, a spirit makes its presence known. It addresses the party:

“Intruders, why are you here? You seek the Dragon Slayer? It is fitting you speak to me first, a follower of Gargoss.” He looks over at Duncan “You seem worthy, will you wield the Dragon Slayer?” and he tries to enter Duncan’s body.

Duncan calls out “What are you doing!”

“The slayer must be prepared. I must merge with him. Will you allow this?”

He allows it, for some overly trusting reason. The spirit looks deep into his memories and comes back out. “You are prepared, as you move into and through the ruins, the weapon will be prepared.”

They search some more, and Valos sees a summoning circle. He determines some of the symbols have dried blood in them.

Continuing, the group comes upon a six-armed statue. It does not seem to be anything special so the group ignores it and moves along. Next Valos see’s a person drinking blood out of a fountain. The person looks up, smiles showing his fangs, and says “Wait, why drink this old blood when there is fresh blood!” as the Vampire Lord attacks. He is slain.

The group continues. They find a room with urns in it and a purple mist barrier at the end of the room. Inside one urn is found 23 gold coins. It also releases a gas. Surviving the gas, the group finds a riddle.

The group hates riddles and moans and complains in protest. They eventually solve the riddle and the purple mist barrier fades.

And what do they find in the next room? A statue of a big toad and another riddle. The group moans some more, but this time they are eager to show up each other and frantically try to figure out the riddle first. 3 levers all in the down position. Vaols moves up and moves them all up revealing a box with a trap. Getting past the trap, inside is an oak wand with a vein of red running up it {whitchfire wand pg244} Continuing to look at the fighters request (why not, it’s not his neck) they find a secret box with another trap.

{2 silver bracers with shields on them – bracers of defense}

The party continues, finds a door with fire jets on it. This does not slow the party as they all rush past.

The next room has a large storm giant in it, with a swirl of energy trapping him in place. The energy is a torrent of chaos. As the group moves to get a closer inspection, a chaos demon moves out of the energy. He seems trapped in the room, but that doesn’t slow the party as they move in and attack. Immediately, a second chaos beast appears, dividing the party. And, as you can guess, the giant then attacks. All are defeated.

{Hammer-maul +3 thundering, daily 3 burst, 40gp of gems, 35gp of gold (added 35gp+23gp above=7pg each)

The party continues. Dobbs decides to read a rune he finds. It explodes. Nice job Dobbs.

Through another opening there is a portcullis that is down. As the party moves up, Duncan puts his hand out, it passes through the portcullis as ‘the chosen one, Duncan’ can pass right through. The others are able to open it up and get past without walking through, but then they aren’t tainted like Duncan is.

In the next room is a creature called “the caller in darkness” as it attacks.

It is a difficult battle, but the party succeeds.

{Group total at this point should be 7gp & 656silver each according to my notes, may need to verify math)

The party goes back to the town. People are gone, found a body in an alley killed with a spiked chain. It is identified by a party member as a Shadar-kie, they use shadows to attack, phase step and shadow jump. It is also odd for a group like that to be here.

Exploring the town shows it is deserted until movement is seen at the inn. Kruger, Matt, Valos sneak towards the inn. They see two shadowy figures in the front of the inn, guarding the entrance. Then a woman comes out and speaks “I thought I heard something. Maybe they have returned with the weapon.” The three sneak back to the party and tell them what they saw. The party can’t resist killing bad guys so we decide to attack. For some reason, the party decides to use strategy instead of the normal full frontal assault, and the three sneaks are sent to try and gain entrance from the back side of the inn. That will allow the rest to use the tried and true full frontal assault, because really, what attack plan is not complete without a full frontal assault.

The sneaky group manages to get inside, make it upstairs, find a woman being attacked, take out the attacker, and then move to the front of the inn. This is when the front has timed to do their frontal attack, as they rush the guards. The woman is a witch, and she summons two Galeb Duhr (rock dudes). There is also another big warrior inside. The party takes down all of them, with one of the rogues managing a very fancy dive from the 2nd story staircase to land and flank the attackers.

One of the men survives, and against many of the party member’s feelings, a deal is struck to spare his life for information: “This dragon has allied himself with demons that have put steel on his skin. He’s actually a red dragon. He has at least 1000 gold in his lair. If you kill the demons, they won’t be able to repair his armor. Without the steel armor, the weapon will easily bypass the dragon’s normal defenses. His lair is south east of here, because that is the coolest direction and used in all stories, in the Troll Mountains. Oh, there are six demons keeping him armored.”

{Party treasure of: 75 gold (9 gold each), amulet of protection +2, dagger +1}

An interesting ring that has a connection with the dragon is also found. Dobbs determines it’s a communication device with the dragon. While he is figuring this out, the dragon grabs his mind. After a struggle, Dobbs breaks free of the attack. It’s a slave ring, the dragon has the master.

Not wishing to rush into the dragon lair, everyone waits while Dobbs uses the magical items at his disposal to make or modify items. He makes a few cloaks of resistance, and added frost damage to both Valos and Matt’s weapons.

We travel to the Troll Mountains’ and find an entrance labeled “secret dragon lair – stay out.” We go inside the cave.

Yep, it’s a cave all right. As we move in, a voice is heard “no, let them come closer….”

As we get closer, the attack begins. There is the armored dragon, the six demons, and two green skulls. These skulls seem much better prepared for attack than the last skulls. Even so, all are defeated.
